>reblog: Friends of Coal Meeting in Mingo Co, WV

> TONIGHT!, December 17th at 6:00 p.m. at the Larry Joe Harless Community Center!!  Please see the attached information sheet!

Regarding the WV Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality’s preliminary determination to issue permit #R13-2791 to TransGas Development, LLC, to construct a coal-to-gasoline facility near Wharncliffe, in Mingo County, the purpose of this email is to inform you that a public meeting, arranged by the Division of Air Quality, will take place tonight, December 17th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Larry Joe Harless Community Center in Gilbert, and I strongly encourage and request your attendance.

The purpose of the public meeting is to provide information on the proposed project and to accept comments on issues related to the draft permit and the agency’s preliminary determination.

It is critically important that we have a very large number of supporters at this meeting so that our voices are louder than those who are opposing the project.  Our goal is 1,000 people!!  So tell everyone that you know that we need their support at this meeting Thursday evening.  Many of you have submitted support letters for this phase of the project, and we appreciate your help.  But please know that this is the most critical phase of the project, to date.  We must be able to demonstrate the community’s and the region’s support of this project and the positive economic impact that it will have for our own county and for all of southern West Virginia.

I look forward to seeing each of you, your colleagues, your friends, your family and your neighbors tonight, December 17th at 6:00 p.m. at the Larry Joe Harless Community Center!!  And as always, thank you for supporting our efforts to create a better Mingo County for our children and our grandchildren.
