Reading about Morales’s bid to be re-elected in Bolivia, this comment made me think. The commentary was focused on the new cable car system in LA Paz. “It connects La Paz with the satellite city of El Alto, home to thousands of migrants. There, a monument to Che Guevara sits next to a brand new shopping centre, surrounded by thousands of poorly built stalls selling counterfeit products.”
I always wonder what former communist revolutionaries think about the commercialization of their likenesses and country.
