Fair thee well, John Nash

‘Beautiful Mind’ mathematician killed http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-32865248

I remember the first time I began to learn the basics of game theory. I was in a HS Econ class and we were petitioning for the ability to study for the AP exam because our schedule wouldn’t let us in the time section that was the actual course. When it was explained that the teacher would gain nothing from the additional work burden, and would possibly have his passage rate decline if we failed to pass, we retreated from the office back to class. Then Mr. McCormick said that is Nash at work. His 45 min explanation was another important step into my fascination with economics and the social sciences.

They will be dearly missed.
